Training & programmes
Training that changes what happens on the floor.
Corporate training, hospitality professional development and leadership programmes — designed around your operation, delivered on-site or blended, and built so the capability stays after we leave.
Delivery formats
Three ways to run a programme
The right format depends on group size, shift patterns and how much practice the topic needs.
On-site at your premises
Delivered in your own environment, using your equipment, layout and real scenarios. Best for service and operational topics.
In-house at a hired venue
Off-site so the team is free of interruptions. Useful for leadership groups and multi-property cohorts.
Blended
Classroom sessions combined with remote follow-up and reinforcement. Best when travel or shift cover is a constraint.
Programme catalogue
Core programmes
Five programme families cover the work most clients ask for. Each is adapted to your sector and standards during design, with cohort size and duration scoped to your team.
Corporate Training
Programmes designed for whole teams in non-hospitality organisations where service quality and internal collaboration drive results.
- Needs assessment and skills mapping before design
- Scenarios drawn from your own operating context
- Manager briefing so standards are reinforced after training
- Post-programme evaluation against agreed measures
Hospitality Professional Development
Career-stage development for hospitality staff moving from competent to consistently excellent in guest-facing roles.
- Guest journey and the moments that matter most
- Product knowledge and confident recommendation
- Upselling and service recovery done properly
- Personal presentation and professional communication
Customer Service Programmes
Service behaviour, communication and complaint handling for teams in direct contact with customers.
- Agreeing and practising the service standard
- Complaint handling and de-escalation practice
- Telephone and written customer communication
- Service recovery and follow-through
Supervisory Skills
For supervisors stepping up from frontline work into leading shifts, briefing teams and holding standards.
- Role shift: from doing to leading
- Briefings, delegation and follow-up
- Giving feedback and correcting performance
- Managing peak periods and pressure
Leadership Development
For managers responsible for performance, team culture and operational decision-making.
- Setting direction and translating strategy into daily work
- Building and developing a management layer
- Difficult conversations and performance management
- Decision-making under commercial pressure
Durations, group sizes and fees are confirmed in the proposal. Programmes are priced per cohort rather than per seat, so the figure you receive is the full cost for your group.

Upcoming dates
Open-enrolment cohorts are scheduled on demand. In-house programmes run on dates agreed with the client, so the fastest route is to enquire with your preferred window.

How it works
From enquiry to evaluation
Enquiry & scoping
We discuss the group, the gap and the outcome you want. If training is not the answer, we will say so.
Design
Content, scenarios and exercises are built around your operation, then shared for approval.
Delivery
Sessions run with your team, at your venue or a hired one, scheduled around shifts where possible.
Evaluation
We measure against the agreed outcome and provide reinforcement material for managers to continue.
Future Initiative
Establishing our own hospitality training school
Alongside our in-house and on-site client programmes, PSD is advancing plans to establish a dedicated hospitality training school in Ethiopia.
Across our consultancy and management engagements since 2018, one gap has remained constant: hotels and restaurants struggle to recruit staff and supervisors who have already practised real operating standards before their first shift.
Our planned training school is designed to close that gap — combining structured classroom instruction with hands-on practice in front-of-house service, housekeeping, food & beverage operations, cost awareness and shift supervision.
Partner with us or register interestFloor-ready hospitality skills
Practical training built around real hotel and restaurant operating routines rather than theory alone.
Supervisory & cost-control pathway
Developing team leaders who understand shift briefings, service standards and operational cost discipline.
Industry partnership
Connecting hospitality employers across Ethiopia with trained, well-prepared graduates and placement cohorts.
Questions
Training FAQ
Can you deliver training at our premises?
Yes — on-site delivery is our default for service and operational topics, because practising in the real environment noticeably improves transfer back to the job. We will need a suitable room and, where relevant, access to a service area.
How many people can attend one programme?
Group size is agreed during scoping. Practical service and supervisory programmes work best with cohorts small enough for everyone to practise; larger groups are usually split across sessions or run as several cohorts.
Is the content adapted to our sector?
Always. Scenarios, examples and exercises are rewritten around your operation during the design phase — this is the main reason we do not sell fixed off-the-shelf courses.
Do participants receive materials or certificates?
Programmes include participant materials and take-away job aids. Certification arrangements are confirmed in the proposal.
How far in advance should we book?
Design work usually needs a short lead time before delivery, so earlier is better. Tell us your preferred window in the enquiry and we will confirm what is achievable.
Can you train our internal trainers?
Yes — train-the-trainer is part of professional training & development, and is the most cost-effective route if you need the same programme delivered repeatedly across multiple properties.
Tell us about your team.
Send the group size, the gap you are trying to close and your preferred timing — we will come back with a recommended programme.
